Authorities from Canada, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic are the latest to certify the aircraft
Twenty months after it went into operation, more than 150 of the Phenom 100 executive jet have already been delivered. As the number of customers expands throughout the world, the aircraft must meet the specific requirements of each country where it will be registered. The Phenom 100 is certified, today, by 18 civil aviation authorities. The most recent approvals were granted by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), and the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil – DGAC).
The clean sheet Phenom 100 was conceived by Embraer for the entry level business jet category. The concept was introduced in 2005, and the aircraft flew for the first time on July 26, 2007. The Brazilian Civil Aviation Agency (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil – ANAC) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications were issued in December 2008, opening the way for the first deliveries.
Since then, global acceptance of the aircraft has continued at a brisk pace, resulting in numerous additional certifications by civil aviation authorities from the countries where the Phenom 100 has customers. The jet was certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), as well as in Argentina, Australia, Isle of Man, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela, in 2009. This year, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, India, South Africa, the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic have already granted their approvals of the airplane. Other countries will soon join the current list.
The Phenom 100 can accommodate up to eight occupants and has seven different interior options designed in a partnership with BMW Group DesignworksUSA. Its range of 1,178 nautical miles (2,182 km), including NBAA IFR fuel reserves, means the aircraft is capable of flying nonstop from New York to Miami, in the U.S.; from London to Rome, in Europe; or from Brisbane to Melbourne, in Australia. It is the fastest and has the largest baggage capacity in its category. The advanced cockpit design and a private aft lavatory are some of its competitive features.
Phenom 100 customers are supported by an extensive network of six Company-owned and more than 30 authorized service centers, worldwide, including partnerships with renowned companies
in the areas of logistics and pilot and mechanic training. Embraer offers routine inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and special service programs, such as the Embraer Executive Care (EEC). The Company’s structure covers flight operations, and technical and maintenance support customized for the operating profile of each aircraft, as well as a 24/7 Contact Center. This structure makes possible a significant reduction in aircraft costs and downtime, and maximizes the benefits of this important business tool.

Executive Flight Services receives Embraer light jet in São José dos Campos, Brazil
São José dos Campos, January 6, 2010
Embraer has begun delivering its recently certified Phenom 300 executive jet, just one year after the first Phenom 100 customers received their aircraft. The first Phenom 300 was delivered at the Company’s headquarters, on December 29, 2009, to Executive Flight Services, a wholly owned aircraft management subsidiary of Executive AirShare, which received the aircraft on behalf of an undisclosed customer.
“As the first FAA Part 135 operator to take delivery of the Phenom 300, Executive Flight
Services will be managing an aircraft that has met all design specifications and improved on
its targets, in terms of runway take-off length, range, speed, and landing distance, making it
the ideal tool for corporate use in this category,” said Ernest Edwards, Embraer Vice
President, Marketing and Sales, USA, Mexico and the Caribbean – Executive Jets.
“The Embraer delivery team has attended to every detail to ensure a smooth delivery of this
aircraft,” said Keith D. Plumb, President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive AirShare.
“As the world’s leading operator of Phenom 100 aircraft, we have been extremely pleased
with the performance and low direct operating costs of this entry level jet, and hold similarly
high expectations for the Phenom 300.”
In preparation for entering service, Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS), based in Dallas,
Texas, successfully qualified four Phenom 300 customer pilots, in December 2009, to operate
the new Embraer Phenom 300 jet. Due to the level of commonality between the Phenom
aircraft models, and because all pilots had previously obtained their Phenom 100 type ratings,
only a transition course for the Phenom 300 was required.
