Landing incident with Brazillian C-130H Hercules at Antarctica

A C-130 Hercules aircraft from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) crashed on Thursday during landing in the Chilean base Eduardo Frei, in Antarctica, no injuries, reported the FAB in a statement.

The right hand main landing gear reportedly collapsed while landing on runway 29. The nr.4 propeller separated.

The occurrence was around 11 am (local time). There were no injuries. The Brazilian Air Force will investigate factors contributing to the occurrence,” said the FAB in the note.

According the Chilean state television, the plane flipped in adverse weather conditions.

The aircraft was conducting a mission of the Brazilian Antarctic Program (Proantar) added to FAB.
