Etihad to fly to Kathmandu daily
DUBAI – Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways said on Sunday it will increase its Kathmandu services from four per week to daily from January due to increase in passenger volumes.
“The success of the route is evident in average load factors of between 80 and 90 per cent on both in- and outbound flights. This is attributable to growth in corporate travel and also a positive trend in inbound tourism to Nepal,” Etihad said in a statement.
Despite political instability Nepal continues to remain an attractive tourist destination and popular route for Gulf carriers.
Sharjah-based Air Arabia also flies to Kathmandu.
Low-cost carrier FlyDubai is starting flights to Kathmandu from Dec. 15 as it continues to expand its network.
