Kaigai Aviotech Corporation Orders One AW119 Ke Helicopter

AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that Kaigai Aviotech Corporation of Japan has placed an order for one AW119 Ke single engine helicopter. This order follows the recent sale of the first AW119 Ke helicopter in Japan in April, purchased by a private customer to perform VIP transport missions in Kytakyushu, southern Japan.

The AW119 Ke is AgustaWestland’s answer to worldwide current customer demand for a high performance, modern, multi-role single-engine helicopter. The eight-place AW119 Ke can perform a wide range of commercial and public service roles, delivering exceptional performance under hot and high operating conditions. Over 190 AW119 helicopters have been ordered to date by almost 90 customers in over 30 countries.

AgustaWestland and Kaigai Aviotech Corporation signed a distribution agreement in 2007 for the sale of AW119 Ke, AW109 Power and Grand commercial models in Japan. AgustaWestland has seen its position and share of the Japan helicopter market steadily increase in recent years to become a major supplier of helicopters to both the commercial and government markets and the company sees significant business opportunities in the future.
